De BES heeft CREE officieel
uitgenodigd om de volgende vergadering in Brussel te laten doorgaan op
28 en 29 november 2008.
Teneinde eventueel nieuwe dossiers te kunnen
voorleggen tijdens deze vergadering, worden nieuwe kandidaten gevraagd hun
dossier in te dienen voor 10 augustus 2008.

FEES (Federation of European Ergonomics Societies): October – European month of Ergonomics (FEES) and now also the International Month of Ergonomics (IEA), European Month of Ergonomics was arranged for the first time in October 2007. The idea was to encourage all of the FEES member societies arrange different kind of activities in October in order to make ergonomic better known in their countries. The EME offers a good reason for the national societies to public information and activities, contacts to media, etc. This year and next year the theme of the European Ergonomic Month, October, is Ergonomics in occupational health and safety risk assessment according to the theme the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (in Bilbao) has chosen for years 2008 and 2009.
De eerstvolgende vergadering van de nederlandstalige vleugel in de nieuwe samenstelling is doorgegaan op 4 juli., de volgende bijeenkomst is voorzien voor 23 september.

francophone de la BES:
En collaboration avec les sections
francophone et néerlandophone de la BES, la firme BMA ergonomics (www.bma-ergonomics.be) invite les
membres de la BES à visiter son entreprise de fabrication le jeudi 2 octobre, à
Zwolle aux Pays-Bas. Cette activité réservée aux membres de la BES est gratuite.

Activités en cours d'organisation: atelier avec firmes commercialisant des inventions techniques dans le domaine de la construction (vers début décembre). Une activité probablement commune avec l'ARACT Lille au sujet des problèmes psychosociaux est en cours de réflexion (début 2009).

Het 2e Franstalig Congres
over de preventie van musculoskeletale aandoeningen (MSA) in Montréal op 18 en
19 juni 2008 kende een groot succes, zowel wat betreft het aantal deelnemers als
wat betreft de kwaliteit van de sprekers en van hun uiteenzettingen. Het
Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST)
van Québec heeft door een uitstekende organisatie bijgedragen tot dat

IEA / ICOH / IOHA Triple MOU signed: During June
a new Triple MOU was signed between the ICOH and IOHA. This is to reinforce a
consistent approach by the peak organizations involved in the Occupational
Health and Safety areas to work together for professional representation in
global discussion. The MOU is on the IEA website.
- The IEA
has supported the Korean Government KOSHA conference in Seoul
during June by hosting a session relating to participatory approaches to
address musculoskeletal injuries.
- Two new technical committees (TC):
Human Factors and Sustainable Development and Mining
- During the IEA 2009 Congress, the
official launch of the World Engineering Anthropometric Resource
WEAR will occur. This will make a new resource in 3D anthropometric
data prepared by a team of international researchers available for the first
time.
Cost Benefit Analysis: Organizations frequently cite the
perceived cost of ergonomics programs and solutions as a barrier to
implementation. While the benefits of ergonomics are fairly easy to
quantify following implementation, they can be difficult to estimate when
attempting to justify an investment in an ergonomics intervention. This is one
of the reasons that the cost side of the equation tends to dominate the
discussion of ergonomics. To help practitioners better quantify the benefits of
ergonomics, Rick Goggins, a Labor and Industries ergonomist and PSHFES Council
Member, has developed a cost-benefit calculator that PSHFES is proud to offer
for free download. The calculator allows
you to compare three intervention options, and provides estimates of benefits
and payback periods. The calculator is
based on a review of 250 case studies in which organizations reported the
outcomes of ergonomics programs and individual solutions.
De nieuwste NAPO animatiefilmpjes gaan over risico-evaluatie en -inventarisatie en proberen de betekenis van een risico op een grappige manier te verduidelijken aan de hand van een aantal praktische voorbeelden. De nieuwe films van Napo over risicobeoordeling verklaren het verschil tussen gevaar en risico en hoe deze kunnen worden geëlimineerd of worden verminderd. et l’inventaire des risques et tentent d’expliquer la signification d’un risque
de façon amusante à l’aide d’un certain nombre d’exemples pratiques. Les nouveaux films de Napo sur l’évaluation des
risques expliquent la différence entre danger et risque et comment ils peuvent
être éliminés ou réduits. Ils ont pour but de donner une meilleure notion de la
signification de «risque» à l’aide d’une série de situations pratiques.
